Yahoooooo

Less than 11 million seconds until I get to hug my man!

Out with the old....in with the new

Nope, I am not talking about kids.....although that might not be a bad idea considering how things have been going lately.
I am talking about washing machines. First, you have to understand that I have a REALLY hard time getting rid of things. For heaven's sake, I still have the silk material that went around my baby blanket. I have papers from high school in file folders. It is kind of crazy, I will admit, but I just like to get the most out of things.
So, my wachine machine broke last Friday. I was so stressed about it. I tried everything I could to fix it. I called to get estimates, but they were all so expensive. I was really down. Tony had said that when he got home we could look at getting a new washing machine, so I felt really bad that we might not be able to wait that long.
As I do whenever I am feeling low, I called my mom. She gave me lots of ideas on how to fix the machine, but none of them worked. We started talking about me getting a new one and which brands were best. She mentioned that she once had an RCA washing machine that lasted a really long time, but she didn't know if they still made washing machines. I said "yeah, that one sure did last a long time.....it is the one that is sitting in my laundry room right now!" We laughed, but then we got to thinking and we figured out that she had that machine since I was in 4th or 5th grade!!!!! She gave it to me several years ago. SOOOOOO this machine is like 18 years old!!!!!
At that point, I had to laugh. We decided that it probably had put in its miles and that is would be ok to retire it. :) I mean, it is older than Brady!
Funny times.....
God blessed us with having some money available for us to get a new washing machine. The new one came today, and I haven't stopped using it since it arrived. It is great and so big! This will be such a wonderful thing to have for the next 18 years!
Here are some pictures of the old one.....poor thing....it was trying to get a smile out before being hauled away.....

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Again, I know I am weird, but I just love days like this. Cloudy.....foggy....drizzly....perfect!

These pictures were taken in the middle of the afternoon!

Windy here

It is a tad bit windy here tonight! Sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts of 40.
And yes, don't worry dad, I put an ear plug in one ear so that the wind doesn't go straight through. :)
I just hope that I don't hear that stupid tornado siren tonight.....that sure would ruin a good night's sleep.

Coolest thing....

Life has been extra rough lately, and I have to be honest, I haven't been taking it in stride. It has gotten to me.
So, today I decided to go get groceries after picking up the kids. I was on my way back home and out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of a billboard at a church that said AFRICAN CHILDREN's CHOIR....and guess what???? the concert was tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so excited I got all teary. Why? Beacuse it was like a BIG hug from God! Seriously, He put that sign there, and put my eyes upon it at just the right time. He knew how much I needed that.
It was beyond awesome!
So, the kids and I went to the concert tonight, and it was wonderful, as always. I just kept crying, but they were tears of joy. I felt SO loved that God would allow me to know about this concert and get to see it again.....even in Texas....
The kids loved it and danced and sang. It was great.
I talked to the leader afterwards and I think I will get the chance to go by and hang out with them tomorrow! YEAH!!!! I am looking forward to that.

Not much to say

I am sorry. I don't have much to say today. Life is hard. Really hard. I have been reminded today that "this world is not our home". Life here is naturally going to be hard. My prayer is for the strength to get through today. Like the name of our blog says, He will give us the strength for our present struggle, and then for the next mountain. Our job is to believe and trust that His strength is more than enough.

Back to Life.....back to

yep you guessed it....reality!
Well, I guess I didn't really get a break from reality this trip, but still, back to Texas style reality!
One great thing about this place is that depending on the time of day you go outside, you could experience all 4 seasons in one day! Cool huh!
Early morning - low 30's icy roads (winter)
Mid Morning - raining, 50's (spring)
Afternoon - 70's and sunny (an ideal summer)
Evening to early night - 40's and lots of wind (fall)
Now how many places can boast about that?

The kids went back to school today. Both had good days.
Tony got some good news at work today, so when we talked he was actually kind of in a good mood. That is always wonderful!
Got the oil in the car changed, the battery checked, the tire pressure checked, etc...so that is all good to go.
The heater is, at this very moment, working....but yeah, it is supposed to get cold tonight, back into the 30's so it will probably stop since it isn't supposed to be used during "that" cold of weather.
We came home to a house that looked like it did when we left. I was so thankful for that. I was a little worried that a pipe woudl break and flood the place, but God had it under control and by His mercy chose to spare me that hassle!
Ok, those are all of the random thoughts that I will subject you to today.
Sweet Dreams Y'all!
